Signs and symptoms of a Stroke?

When it comes to dealing with someone with may be having a stroke you are going to want to look at the signs. Make sure that when you do spot any or some of the signs and symptoms that you should seek medical attention quickly. You will want to get the medical attention quickly so that you can help diagnose your close loved one and that you help them minimize the brain damage. It is very important that you look for the signs especially if the person has been known to take a stroke. If you are watching or taking care of someone who has had a stroke, it is more likely that they will have another stroke.

They are many symptoms such as weakness in muscle or numbness are the most common signs of a stroke. If you notice that someone whom you love says that they can't feel their one side of their body or specific body part, they may be in risk of taking a stroke from a blood clot or they may have just taken a stroke. There are also side effects like vibrations and the victim may seem to not be able to stop quivering. You also have to keep in mind that these are not signs of just a stroke, but it could be be for other major medical problems. That is why these are signs that you need to get medical attention quickly.

Some of the things that you will have to deal with after you take a stroke include things like altered taste buds. In fact, some people find that they are unable to taste anything. They also find that there other senses are affected as well. They may have troubles with the vision because their eyes tend to drop and their eye muscles become weak. You will also notice a decrease in sensation in your face and muscle weakness in the face as well. This is why some people will hold their mouth a certain way (droopy) and why some people cannot make expressions like smiling or frowning. Some people also are unable to more their tongue side to side or any other direction. This is why most people who take a stroke may loose their ability to speak. Not only will you find that you will lose body movement, but other things as well.

When you take a stroke you lose control over your body and have some brain damage. It is important that you try to help out your loved ones by calling 9-1-1 for emergency assistance. If you notice the signs you should be able to make a difference in the effects of the stroke and possibly save their life. Strokes are very serious and you will want to make sure that you recognize the signs.

 

High Blood Pressure and Stroke

Do you know that having high blood pressure can be deadly? This is true. Many people that do not realize that if they do not take care of their body in the right way, they may be setting themselves up for a terrible disaster to happen to them. This is because high blood pressure can cause many problems for your health. You have to make sure that you are maintaining your blood pressure so that you are able to live a long and healthy life.

There are bouts 700,000 Americans that have a stroke each year. There are also over 150,000 that will die from having a stroke. This is very serious. It is the leading cause of a serious and very long-term disability among people today and many do not even know that they are at risk for it. If you or someone that you know has high blood pressure they may be setting themselves up for a terrible stroke ahead of them.

Many think of a stroke as an old person's problem. Not true! There are thousands of people each year that have a stroke and are under the age of 65. It is even becoming more common for young people to take a stroke because of high blood pressure and not taking care of it like they should. This is why there are more unnecessary deaths due to blood pressure each year.

There is good news and that is that you can protect yourself from having a stroke. You have to make sure that you are doing the following so that you are safe.

* Know the risk factors that are involved.
* Reduce your risk factors including high blood pressure before they become a problem in your life.
* Learn the warning signs of a stroke. This will help you determine if you have a problem or not.
* Know what to do if you notice the warning signs of having a stroke for yourself or for someone that you know and love.

Get your blood pressure checked often. You have to make sure that you are going the extra distance so that you are able to move past any health problems that you may encounter. Having high blood pressure may not seem like a big deal but it could mean that difference between life and death if it is not treated properly.

There are so many things that you can do to protect your body and the reason is that it is your life. There are many out there that just do not pay any attention to their warning signs and continue with a bad lifestyle that is only setting them up for high blood pressure and a potential stroke.

Obesity and Stroke

Do you know that if you are overweight, you are increasing your chances of having a stroke? This is very true. Many do not realize all of the risks that are involved when you are overweight. Having a stroke when you are overweight is something that many have to fear in life. This is a very big problem and it is increasing every day.

Obesity is determined by how much body fat you have. Your body is made up of water, fat and proteins and many other vitamins and minerals as well. If your body has too much fat, you are at risk for health problems especially if this fat is located in your middle section of the body. Some of the risks that you may be dealing with are high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and heart disease and stroke.

Obesity is now known as one of the major reason for a stroke. Some of the reasons are not sure but there are some that are being found out all the time. There are many researchers that are taking this upon themselves to find out what they have to do in order help those that are dealing with being overweight and worrying about their health as well. Having a stroke can happen to anyone at anytime but being overweight is going to contribute to this growing problem.

Even when there are no effects on the risk factors, obesity is going to increase the risk of having heart disease. It will also harm more than just the heart and blood vessels in the body. It is major cause of the problems that people have with gallstones and can even make muscle and joint problems start to arise in the body as well.

Being overweight is hard on the body especially the heart and when you are taking care of yourself by eating right and getting plenty of rest and exercise, you will find that the effects are going to start weight in on your body. You will notice that you soon start to have shortness of breath and even pains in the chest. This is a true sign that you have something wrong and you need to seek medical attention.

Not to say that overweight people are the only ones at risk for a stroke. This is just not the case. However being overweight does contribute to the problem and can make it worse for any person's health. It can affect the heart and other organs of the body and this can eventually cause a stroke to occur and leave a person disabled or even bring death on way to early. It is always best for a person to see a doctor and get their weight under control before it is too late.
